Taurus Engineering is actively refurbishing pieces of Bailey Bridges, a crucial undertaking for the rapid repair of bridges damaged in floods. New Zealand has two storage facilities for Bailey Bridges, and over time, these bridge pieces require refurbishment. Shane Smith, General Manager of Taurus, said, “Taurus has been entrusted with this task through Downer. Leveraging our technical expertise and experienced workforce, we are extensively refurbishing these bridge components.” The NZ Transport Agency skillfully uses Bailey Bridges for emergency bridge repairs, a method that not only enables timely repairs but also embodies sustainability by reducing waste and maintaining the environment.
