Air Pollution Control Solution for QRCUF

Taurus Engineering was engaged by Fowlerex to undertake the fabrication of key air pollution control equipment for the Queensland Resources Common User Facility (QRCUF). The QRCUF, strategically developed by the Queensland Government, facilitates pilot and demonstration-scale trials for processing critical minerals and rare earth elements, significantly advancing local manufacturing capabilities and sustainability in the resources sector.

Taurus’s scope included fabricating a range of stainless-steel components, structural platform and handrails, multiple scrubbers (gas and venturi), activated carbon filter, fans, stack, ducting, dosing pot, and effluent pipework. The biggest challenge was the integration of all components, and the high degree of accuracy required to ensure everything fits perfectly upon installation.

Each component was meticulously manufactured to meet Fowlerex’s precise design specifications and rigorous quality standards, ensuring seamless integration within the facility’s broader air pollution control system.

Taurus coordinated closely with Fowlerex and the wider project timeline, ensuring equipment readiness for timely integration and commissioning at the Cleveland Bay Industrial Park near Townsville. Taurus Engineering’s expert fabrication capabilities played an essential role in supporting this significant resource sector initiative, underscoring their commitment to precision manufacturing and environmental performance. This project remains ongoing, with delivery scheduled in October.
