WESP upgrade at Ingleburn Location: Ingleburn, NSW, Australia Time: December 2025 – present #16313 Taurus was engaged by its sister company Fowlerex Technologies to fabricate a new Wet Electrostatic Precipitator (WESP) system at a major NSW building materials manufacturing facility in Ingleburn. The project forms part of the client’s commitment to reducing air emissions and improving environmental performance, upgrading it’s existing emission control infrastructure to meet strict environmental licence limits and support future capacity growth. The system has been engineered to significantly enhance particulate and gaseous emission control while integrating into the existing plant and stack arrangement. Scope of work six stainless steel Wet Electrostatic precipitator modules Slide gates Dampers Fabrication Challenges The fabrication of the WESP modules requires tight dimensional control throughout the manufacturing process, particularly within the hexagonal cell assemblies that form a critical part of the system. Each module stands approximately 11 metres high when assembled and weighs around 18 tonnes when shipped. Despite their size, the hexagonal cell construction requires fabrication tolerances of approximately 1mm to meet project requirements. Careful attention is also required during fabrication and assembly to ensure the units can be accurately levelled and integrated on site, where modification opportunities are limited.
